I found that putting a $ in front of a numeric variable will have the system read the variable as dollars.  Is there something I can use for it to read a number one digit at a time?  Right now if I wanted to read back the invoice number of 85124 to a caller it will be read back as eighty five thousand one hundred twenty four.

The only way to do this is to break up the number by either spaces, commas or periods. So: 8,5,1,2,4
